Forgotten Lore - Australian Exclusive
We're currently in the process of putting together a limited edition cd featuring tracks recorded back when we we're known as Fury. It will be known as Forgotten Lore.
Forgotten Lore was originally recorded way back in March/April 1999. It took place over a ten-day period at Powerhouse Studio in Sydney. It was the first studio foray for the circa 1999 line up and was meant to be the follow up album to the critically acclaimed debut release.
We enlisted the services of long time friend of the band Lord Tim and renowned engineer Mark Worrall for the sessions.
In hindsight we we're incredibly pedantic, and the overall mood of the session wasn't positive after we'd suffered some early setbacks. In this frame of mind, we forged on but had the niggling feeling in the back of our minds that we'd blown the session when in reality it wasn't all that bad.
After the mix down we weren't completely happy with some of the songs or the production at the time, so the recordings ultimately were shelved and only used for promo material and an occasional compilation disc.
Some of the songs from the session were later re-recorded and found their way on to the Stigmatised MCD in 2000, and the follow-up album Slavekind in 2001, both of which received fantastic reviews worldwide. So it probably worked out for the best.
Almost a decade later we dubbed across our two inch reels to hard disk as it was getting harder to find studios that would work with tape, and after listening to some of the old recordings un-mixed, we realised that a lot of the songs had merit, at least in a nostalgic sense. So we decided to get the tunes remixed, remastered and packaged up for all of our hard-core fans out there.
Whilst a lot of the material on this disc doesn't truly represent the style that we play now, it reveals the evolutionary missing link between the 1997 self titled album and Slavekind.

Movie Soundtrack
In the near future a track from the debut album will be appearing on a movie soundtrack. The film will be in cinema's next year and followed by a DVD release. We can't say too much at this stage but stay tuned for more information.

Pre Production in full swing!
We're fully into the pre-production phase for the next album and things are looking great! We've got 12 tracks ready to roll in to the studio which will end up gracing the upcoming album.
Our current working title for the release is "Beyond Redemption", but we'll probably change our minds over it seven or eight times over the next few minutes.
Also, in quasi-related news, look out soon for some details of Australian distribution!

It's with great sadness that I have to pass on the news that our drummer for six years Ricardo Vozzo has decided to call it quits with The Harrowed. Here's what he had to say on his myspace...
"After joining the band FURY back in late 2001, i began working on new songs to complete the next CD. After band members comming and goin, the years went on, till last year when the band had spoken to a record lable and things were on the move. The band had undergone a name change and the CD was released and the ball was in motion, but due to personal reasons and none of it to be directly related to THE HARROWED, i have decided to part ways leaving the band seeking a new drummer.
I am still mates with all the members and hold no one responsible for my actions as it was my own choice, so i wish them the best for the future and hope to see them play live again, but this time around, i will be a drunken mosher standing in the crowd
thanks to all the mates and fans who have supported me and the band"
We'd like to wish him all the best!
